Visitors playing with a member, and not a member of another club, may only sign in at reduced rates three times a year. It was in the latter part of 1906 that a number of residents of New Mills decided to form a golf club. Mr. S. Hancock, the tenant of Shaw Marsh Farm, was approached with a view to arranging a tenancy of part of his land for use as a golf course.
