DISAPPOINTING SECOND PLACE FOR SABBATINI In three years, at the Sony Open held in Honolulu at the Waialae Country Club, Rory Sabbatini from South Africa had to settle for a disappointing second place after falling three strokes short behind South Korea’s KJ Choi in this a title challenge for him.
Sabbatini began the final round already six shots behind leader Choi, and after a substandard round, closed with a two-under-par 68. In the first thirteen holes Choi endured two bogeys, in the end coming to take the victory by three shots with a 71. Sabbatini finished his game at 11-under 269. Commenting on his play, Sabbtini told reporters, "I got off to a good start but had a few little mishaps on the way. Unfortunately it just left me a little too shy." Continuing, with reference to his switch in golf equipment to the Adams manufacturers, "All things considered, though, I'm extremely happy about my new equipment". |
