ELS OFF THE MARK

8 February 2008 - It seems as though Ernie Els needs to do something more drastic about his improving his game than mere talk.

This comes after a terrible start to the Indian Masters yesterday, where Els shot an appalling quadruple bogey, placing himself ten behind the opening leader Jyoti Randhawa, an Indian golfer currently shining in his own surroundings with a two shot lead.

In current second position, with a 67, lies Damien McGrane from Ireland.

Tied for third, are Dehli’s own Shir Kapur, Dane Thomas Bjorn, and Spain’s Jose Manual Lara.

Randhawa was a real star yesterday, altogether putting two eagles and three birdies.

Randhawa has taken five victories as this course, the Lodhi course in New Delhi. On this he has commented that his past performances have helped him a lot. “I’ve won a few times here before and I thought back to that and it helped. What I did before, I did again”. Radhawa continues, “as long as I can keep the same things and handle the pressure this week, I’ll be alight”.

In order to make the cut, Els needs to make an incredibly low score today.

We wish him luck.
