CINK TAKES PGA TOUR TITLE 23 June 2008 – Stewart Cink has taken the PGA Tour title of the Travellers Championship in Gromwell, with a one-shot victory, being almost four years since his first PGA Tour title victory.
Not having a win since the 2004 WGC-NEC Invitational, Cink scored an 18-under total of 262, with the defending champion Hunter Mahan coming in tied for second place with Terry Armour III. Getting himself right after a more than shaky start, Cink, who had his maiden PGA Tour title victory in 1997 at River Highlands, sealed the victory of this tournament by parring the last three holes. In fifth place was Fijan Singh, with Michael Allen, Bubba Watson, Kenny Perry, and Brad Adamonis following closely behind. |
