FIRST DOUBLE VICTORY AT QATAR FOR ADAM SCOTT

28 January 2008 – It was this Sunday at the $2.5 million Qatar Masters that the Australian Adam Scott took the victory with three shots over Swedish Henrik Stenson to become the tournaments first ever double winner.

Scotts’ victory at the Qatar Masters, played on the Doha Golf Club, was achieved with the course record of 11 under par 61 on the final round, and a grand total of 20 under par 268.

This is the second time in which the second place has been taken by Stenson.

Placing in third position with a final round of 67 and closing with a 15 under par 273 was South Africa’s very own Charl Schwartzel.

Ranked the number eight golfer in the world, Scott will now rise to the high position of the world ranked number five.

Commenting on his play, Scott is very pleased with his play at this tournament, and says the course suits his style.
