ELS NOW MORE DETERMINED THAN EVER 6 February 2008 – The disappointing defeat which Ernie Els experienced at the Dubai Desert Classic against the world number one Tiger Woods has left this golfer more determined than ever to improve on his game, and his name.
For Els, though, the loss at this tournament is now in the past, and he is looking towards achieving his goals of winning golfing majors, and, herein, closing the gap on Woods. Els commented, "It was obviously a pretty disappointing way to end the tournament on Sunday. It's always tough to take, but I have to look at the week as a whole and try to draw some positive conclusions". Els will be competing in the Indian Masters this week, and is looking at taking this trophy home with him. On the up-and-coming tournament, Els has said, "So this is an exciting week for golf in the region; it provides the Indian players with a great opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the best players in the world. It's obviously great for the fans here, too.” Golfers to be contending against Els this week for the title will be David Howell, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn, and Darren Clarke, to name but a few. |
