O’HAIR TAKES PODS CHAMPIONSHIP 12 March 2008 – With the collapse of Stewart Cink on Sunday, Sean O’Hair took great advantage, to sweep in and take the victory of the $5.3 m PODS Championship by two strokes, and a final round of 69, and a grand total of 280.
Together with the John Deere Classic in July 2005, this would be O’Hair’s second US Tour title victory. Booking s place in the Masters after this win, O’Hair said, "This one is really, really special." "You win and you expect everything to fall into place. But it doesn't work that way. These guys are just so good." Cink, carding a 74 for 282, ended up sharing second position along with Imada, George O’Neil, Senden, Billy Mayfair, and Troy Matteson. This was the first time Cink has competed since last month when he was routes by Tiger Woods in the final of the World Golf Championship Accenture Match Play Championship. |
