PRAYAD GETS HIS PLACE IN THE BRITISH OPEN

25 June 2008 – After achieving the triumph at the Mizuno Open in Japan, Prayad Marksaeng of Thailand has gained a place in the British Open.

Achieving a spectacular 6-under-par 65, with a birdie on the 18th hole, Prayad proved himself worthy for a place in this prestigious Major event at the Yomiuri Country Club.

Competing in the US Masters in April, Prayad was unable to complete this tournament after suffering from a back injury.

Making the trip to Royal Birkdale, this will be Prayad’s second Major of the year, and his second chance to prove himself at the British Open after his debut in 1999.

The win at the Mizuno Open is the second victory for Prayad this year after winning the Mitsubishi Diamon Cup a couple of weeks back.
