SUN CITY VICTORY FOR JAMES KAMTE

The Gary Player Country Club course, Sun City, 28 January 2008 – It was this Sunday, at the Dimension Data Pro-Am, that professional golfers James Kamte took the victory, 22:5.

At the start of the tournament, a religious Kamte has written down on a piece of paper the verse in Psalms which reads "They put their trust in God and were never disappointed", glancing at it every now and again throughout the tournament for that extra confidence booster.

Taking the lead in the final round, victory was Kamte’s with 11 under par 277, with a round of 70, which he signed off 3 birdies on the final five holes.

Taking second place in the tournament with eight under and closing with a 74 was James Kingston, with Peter Karmis following in third on seven under and closing with a final round of 71.

The next challenge to follow this week for Kamte is the Dubai Desert Classic on the European Open.

Kamte, having been granted a sponsor’s invitation to play this event, will be facing the likes of Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, Colin Montgomerie, and current world number one Tiger Woods.
