WOODS SET TO BE 2008 PGA TOUR CHAMPION

Even though being just one week in the running, golfers from all across the globe are not doubting that current number one Tiger Woods is set to be the champion of all four major golfing championships of the 2008 PGA Tour.

This may seem just like pure speculation as no-one can truly predict what will happen on any given day. However, when this all-star champion is concerned, it is surely possible that Woods will this year achieve this great feat.

“It’s tough to do but he’s done it”, commented Steve Stricker, the world’s currently ranked number three golfer. ”Not all in one calendar year but he’s had them all. It looks like it’s possible.”

Following Woods wins at the U.S Open, PGA Championship, and British Open, with his victory at the Augusta National, he managed to snatch the championship title of all four majors.

Doubling up on the points of the current world number two Phil Mickelson, Woods has been at the top of the world golfers’ scale for a record amount of 477 weeks, holding an average ranking points of 19.22.

If bets were to be placed on the next golfer to match the American Bobby Jones’ achievement in claiming the victory of all four majors in 1930, then Tiger Woods is most definitely your man.
