TIGER TAKES MASTERS PLAY VICTORY 26 February 2008 – Tiger Woods claimed his sixth consecutive victory for this season at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship this past Sunday.
This so far is a perfect season for Woods, having no losses, and he claims that he is preparing to win every event in which he competes for the remainder of the year. Responding on this Woods said, "That's why you play. If you don't believe you can't win an event, don't show up." Woods, commenting on his spotless season record so far, "This is certainly the best stretch I have ever played, but it's a work in progress." "I have a better understanding of how to play the game, how to fix my game, and have a lot more shots than I've ever had.” Running since 1999, the WGC event has seen Woods take 15 WGC crowns in 26 starts. With 63 career victories on the PGA golf tour, Woods loves playing in the WGC events as this is an opportunity for some of the best players to compete against each other; besides in the four majors and Players Championship. |
