The golf course of the Insch Golf Club was extended from nine holes to 18 in 1997. Funding was made possible for this through the National Lottery, the Foundation for Sports and Arts, the R&A Golf Club and members paying a levy. 12 new holes were provided as part of the extension. These have matured over time and now provide a full test of golfing ability.
